Absolutely incredible meal! Food was impeccable, the wontons and the duck baos were a highlight. The flounder was also amazing and the pepper sauce on the beef was so complex and umami. Service was flawless and overall it was a very well priced meal for the quality we received. Would definitely recommend for a fabulous meal!

Would give 4.5 stars if possible, 4 is too harsh so I opted with 5 still. The deduction all came down to the clay pot rice dish, it was a significant downfall from all the almost perfect dishes we were served beforehand. Rice was soggy and overcooked, indicating the wrong water level used when preparing the rice, I think and I hope it’s just a preparation error, because it would be a terrible dish if this is done by design. All in all, it’s a fantastic experience, all dishes except from one was cooked to perfection. Definitely would visit again if possible to try rest of the food & drink menu! (We also had the lobster roll & grilled scallop, they were amazing.)

You don't really need an excuse to visit Supernormal, but we always find another reason to head into the city and dine there. The food is amazing...the lobster rolls ABSOLUTELY but so is everything else! The lobster rolls are in fact so good I forgot to take a photo of them...whoops! The staff are welcoming and go the extra mile to make your time there relax and upbeat. The atmosphere is always good...probably because the restaurant is always full of diners there for a great night. Whether you need a quick bite before heading some else, or in the mood great comfy and relax the night away, the staff have it covered! They are amazing!! If you haven't been too Supernormal - get there - it's just as good at lunch as it is a dinner. You won't regret it! In the pictures - Natsu (first option on the Natsu menu), pot sticker dumplings and chicken, prawn, chilli dumplings.

Been wanting to dine at Supernormal for a long time. Was in Melbourne a few weeks ago and booked in. Was a cool and wet evening, very busy and reluctance for other diners to move on. Had booked for 7pm, but had to wait for 20min. The ambience is minimal aesthetic and the front of house staff v professional and efficient. The food was a stand out and enjoyed every course including dessert. So impressed and would return and return. Great cocktails - the Pinata was really nice. The kingfish - delicious. Prawn toast - amazing - so tasty. Warm poached prawn salad - lovely. Lychee sorbet, yoghurt, shiso granita dessert - so delicious. As a bonus, when was ready to order dessert the lovely wait staff informed that dessert would be comp'ed as a thank you for our patience with the delay. Amazing and so thoughtful. Thoroughly enjoyable dining.

We had a great experience here. The venue was very busy, with lots of activity in the area due to the Australian Open, but it still felt well managed. There were a few minor hiccups with our order, though nothing significant. The food more than made up for it — I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered, including the prawn toast, lobster roll, blue eye fish, steamed Asian greens, and mango dessert. I’ll definitely be returning to try more of the menu, as the food was excellent overall.

I have wanted for a long time to tick this of the Melbourne to do list... Food was ok to good. Few misses.. Raw tuna had little to NO flavour. Upsold lobster was overcooked and well overpriced..$160.00 for 1/2 a small cray. My fault... should have asked the price before ordering. The rest of the offerings were great. Service was 10/10.. even with a chipped glass and a lobster roll full of shell tje staff didnt miss a beat. The venue had a great BUSY vibe... If only the food was as good as the rest of the venue... would have been a 10/10

Best dining experience we've had in Melbourne for quite some time. Food was amazing, and our server was so lovely and attentive. All the staff delivered great service while not seeming rushed or stressed, hopefully this is reflective of them feeling supported in their team. I also found the price quite reasonable for the high quality that was delivered. We were surprised at how good value the bill was considering we both got drinks and felt very satiated. I am really glad we booked! Definitely recommend booking as it was very busy (probably due to aus open being on), so there was around an hour and a half wait for walk ins. Overall a great experience, 10/10 Dishes we had: the kim chi, korean rice cakes, Moreton Bay bug & chicken dumplings, and Szechuan white cut chicken. All delicious!

Love this place. Great service and food. You can sit at the large bar and watch the kitchen staff, so it's perfect for solo travelers. They also can make most decisions half-portion so you can try more stuff. I had the brown butter scallop, lobster roll, lamb shoulder + eggplant, and peanut butter parfait. Everything was great but the lobster roll was probably my least favorite. I probably my least favorite. Kinda wish I had gone with a dumpling or bao bun. The lamb shoulder was the star of the show. The meat was tender and juicy and it was swimming in sauce and spices. Get a side of rice to soak up the sauce. Peanut butter parfait was a nice light dessert to finish off. 10/10 recommend this place!

I had an incredible evening at Supernormal in Melbourne. The vibe is fantastic—stylish, relaxed, and full of energy. The food was top-notch: the saltwater duck with peaches was a 5 out of 5—absolutely exquisite. The raw snapper & roast scallop was also excellent, 4 out of 5 for me ! To top it all off, I had a glass of PYREN Earthscape wine that was recommended to me by the amazing Anna —perfection, another 5 out of 5. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Anna—her service was out of this world. Supernormal is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and impeccable service. I’ll be back for sure!
